Abstract

The study addresses the application of urgent protective measures established by the Maria da Penha Law, focusing on the role of the Military Police of the State of Acre, particularly through the Maria da Penha Patrol, in combating domestic and family violence against women. Considering the high rates of gender-based violence in the Acrean context and the structural and institutional challenges that affect the effectiveness of protective public policies, the research examines the State's capacity to ensure compliance with such measures. The objective is to analyze the effectiveness of the Military Police of Acre in monitoring and enforcing protective measures, identifying their limitations and potential. To this end, a qualitative and exploratory methodology was adopted, based on bibliographic and documentary research, articulated with empirical data and theoretical frameworks on gender violence, human rights, and public security policies. Thus, the findings indicate that the Maria da Penha Patrol plays a significant role in strengthening women's protection and reducing the recurrence of violence, despite facing challenges related to limited resources and the state's vast territory. This allows the conclusion that the effectiveness of protective measures relies on specialized police action, institutional integration, and the continuous strengthening of the protection network.
