Abstract

The integration of digital technologies into the school environment has changed the possibilities for access to information, communication, knowledge production, and the organization of pedagogical practices. However, the growing presence of these resources does not mean that students and teachers have equivalent conditions for using them. This article analyzes the democratization of access to technologies as a possibility for innovation in schools, considering infrastructure, connectivity, teacher training, digital inclusion, and the reorganization of teaching. The study is bibliographic and is based on academic publications and institutional documents related to education and digital technologies. The analysis indicates that educational innovation does not result solely from the availability of computers, mobile devices, or internet access, as it depends on the conditions for appropriating these resources and connecting them to educational objectives. When incorporated critically and guided by pedagogical purposes, technologies can expand learning opportunities, foster participatory methodologies, and diversify educational languages, times, and spaces. Democratizing access means ensuring material, pedagogical, and cultural conditions so that different students can participate autonomously and meaningfully in technology mediated educational experiences, making digital access a dimension of educational equity.
