Abstract

The gestational period is a significant experience in women's lives, marked by various physical and psychological transformations essential for the baby's development and preparation for childbirth. However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges for pregnant women, including increased anxiety, difficulties accessing healthcare services, and changes in prenatal care routines. This study aims to identify the main challenges related to pregnancy during this critical period. Furthermore, it seeks to analyze, based on national literature, how pregnant women faced these obstacles, exploring their strategies of confrontation and resilience. The research highlights the importance of understanding the biopsychosocial impacts of the pandemic on pregnant women and postpartum mothers, as these factors directly influence maternal and fetal health. Literature indicates that many pregnant women developed support networks, adapted their self-care practices, and sought information to mitigate pandemic-related stress. It concludes that collaboration among healthcare professionals, governments, and communities is essential to ensure that pregnant women receive adequate care, from prevention to monitoring during pregnancy and childbirth. Therefore, it is crucial to create public policies that prioritize the health and well- being of pregnant women, promoting an integrated approach that considers multiple aspects of life during the pandemic.
