Abstract

Biotechnology applied to biodiversity conservation has emerged as an important tool to address the growing loss of endangered species on a global scale. This study is characterized as a qualitative bibliographic review aimed at analyzing the contributions of genetic engineering, the work of biologists, and educational actions to the protection and conservation of endangered fauna and flora. The methodology consisted of the analysis of scientific articles, books, institutional documents, and specialized publications on conservation biotechnology, applied genetics, and environmental education. The results showed that techniques such as genetic sequencing, germplasm banks, assisted reproduction, and molecular monitoring significantly contribute to the preservation of genetic diversity and the recovery of threatened populations. Furthermore, the role of biologists proved essential in implementing these strategies, while environmental education promotes social awareness and community engagement in ecosystem protection. It is concluded that the integration of biotechnological advances, scientific research, and educational processes represents a promising approach to strengthening biodiversity conservation actions and ensuring the sustainability of natural resources for future generations.
