THE DIGITAL AWAKENING: THE IMPORTANCE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS IN BRAZIL TODAY AND IN THE FUTURE

Abstract

The digital revolution is imposing new educational paradigms. From the perspective of legal anthropology, the transition from the old Doctrine of Irregular Situation to the Doctrine of Integral Protection requires that technological innovations do not depersonalize youth, but act as guarantors of rights and citizenship. In this context, the general objective of this research is to analyze the relevance of implementing artificial intelligence in the teaching-learning process of children and adolescents; and, as specific objectives: a) to analyze the socio-cognitive impacts of the implementation of AI in the teaching-learning process of children and adolescents; b) to examine, in the Brazilian educational context, the use of AI to identify its ethical, structural, and social benefits and challenges. A qualitative approach, of an exploratory and descriptive nature, is adopted, based on bibliographic and documentary research. The data collection and analysis will be carried out through consultation of books, scientific articles, institutional documents, specialized databases, and relevant legislation, following the standards of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) for the preparation of academic works. In conclusion, the study shows that AI, acting through adaptive learning platforms and predictive alerts, has immense potential to mitigate school dropout and intervene early in the vulnerabilities of children and adolescents. However, its use must be unconditionally subordinated to the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), ensuring the privacy, equity, and dignity of the individual in their particular stage of development, preventing the reproduction of discriminatory algorithmic biases.
