Abstract

Globalization has changed the circulation of information and accelerated the dissemination of technologies that have become part of different dimensions of social life. In education, this process has transformed access to knowledge, expanded communication among institutions, and encouraged new teaching and learning practices. This article analyzes the influence of globalization on technological advances in education, focusing on the network society, digital culture, pedagogical practices, teacher education, and inequalities of access. The discussion shows that digital technologies can expand research, authorship, and cooperation, but their outcomes depend on pedagogical planning, infrastructure, and professional development. It also shows that the expansion of networks does not eliminate inequalities, since students and schools participate in digital environments under different conditions. It is concluded that technological incorporation must be guided by clear educational purposes, inclusion policies, and critical education so that innovation can expand opportunities without reducing education to simple adaptation to market changes or the adoption of recent tools.
