This study analyzes, from both a global and local perspective, the growing relevance of psychosocial risks in the workplace, highlighting them as one of the main challenges for occupational health and safety in the 21st century. Transformations resulting from globalization, increased productivity, digitalization, and COVID-19 have amplified exposure to mental health factors such as anxiety, burnout, adjustment disorders, and depression, generating significant impacts on productivity and the economy. In Brazil, the update to NR-1 (Brazilian Regulatory Standard 1) represents progress by allowing the inclusion of these risks in occupational health management, although challenges persist in its implementation. Given this context, this study investigates how the management of psychosocial risks is configured in light of NR-1 in the Brazilian scenario, considering international guidelines and organizational and regional specificities. The general objective is to analyze this management, with the specific objectives of: identifying psychosocial risk factors in work environments, such as harassment, overload, and low autonomy; describing organizational practices for identifying and managing these risks; and proposing strategies to improve their implementation. The methodology is qualitative, applied in nature, and structured around three axes: literature review, historical-normative documentary research, and a report of professional experience in organizational consultancies focused on the implementation of NR-1 (Brazilian Regulatory Standard 1). It concludes that, despite normative advances, the management of psychosocial risks in Brazil is still consolidating, presenting methodological gaps, operational difficulties, and limited integration between health, psychology, and organizational management, which demands integrated actions to address these issues.
